My 6yr old grandson was diagnosed with chicken pox on Saturday.
Obviously we know he won't be able to visit his young cousins on Christmas Day but he is to be a page boy on 28th December. Will he still be contagious by then as it will break his little heart if told he can't go to the wedding.
I know it would be cutting it a bit fine and I think my daughter might have to make a last minute decision. Not only would he miss out on watching his Auntie get married but also his Mum would miss out on watching her sister get married.
NoM....good points......but medicine is full of "odds and gambles."
Taking into consideration the feelings of the little 6 yr old and the hope that many mat have had chicken pox at the wedding and he will be coming to the end of his "infective period"............I would still let him go.
it's not just the little boy's health you're gambling with, though, Sqad. And to be honest, I wouldn't put the burden of deciding on the bride and groom, who will have quite enough on their plate. One way or the other, his parents should decide.
NoM...this is getting silly now.......if the pregnant woman attending the wedding was immune (had chicken pox as a child) then she would not be at risk.
boxy just stipulated a "pregnancy".....not indicating any immune state.
I wasn't being serious that was my point, I meant if a pregnant woman was that concerned about catching things she could never go out - we run into people harbouring infections all day every day.
