Colleague of mine had C-pox twice, don't I know...it was under my watch in China and what we had to go to for arrangements.
They wanted him in hospital but the Westin Hotel was brilliant and checked their staff - he didn't know where he was for a few days and it was over two weeks before we could move him.
Then came the issue of the air ambulance bridging to London. Hong Kong were refusing to handle him and my Chairman and I had to go to Chris Patten, then Governor of HK, who gave the order to permit it. He had a mild touch of shingles afterwards, if there is such a thing as a mild touch.
Turned out that he had only had the pox lightly as a kid, and then he returned to London from Mexico exhausted. One of his kids' schoolmates had the infection and they decided to have a party and get it all over. Being so exhausted he inadvertently picked it up, flew onto China, sometime in Beijing and then onto us where Etna erupted.
The point - I would be very concerned if I was pregnant. Check with the bride or her mother.........its only politeness and one also has to let them know as he has a role to play, (important to him and possibly for the bride).
