Pinnaplasty Scarring

My son had the above done in summer 2011. He has bad scarring behind one of his ears. people keep asking him what it is as its very noticeable. He has been having steroid injections directly into the scar every 6 weeks. the redness has gone but not the lump. Is there any other treatment to help?

Massage and moisturise is the best treatment for scarring ;) - scars may not improve for up to two years. Do the massage and moisturising a couple of times a day - any moisturiser like E45 etc x

The treatment that you are having is the correct procedure.....carry on until the course of steroid injections have finished.

If after that the lump persists, the you will need to return to the GP as the lump and scar will need excising.
