I've just been prescribed Nitrofurantoin for a water infection from the walk in centre, and have just noticed that it says to be careful if you are Vit B deficient. I'm b12 deficient (under control), will this matter? I've had one already.

Would it not be better to call the NHS helpline to get proper medical advice? Just a thought because I would never take medical advice from anyone other than someone I definitely knew to be a trained medical health professional.
@Ummmm and NoMercy. So his credentials have been checked out by whom? How? I thought AB was anonymous? I could say I was a GP/Gyno/ Obstetrician whatever and start giving out advice to people, so would I have to post up my Qualifications or give my Uni details? No disrespect to Squad but anyone can be anyone on a Forum as its so easy to do a Wiki search and sound like you know what you are doing. I have followed Squads posts and if I had posted about a health issue and he suggested Ibuprofen to me I would probably be severely ill if not dead by now . This was not a malicious post just a heads up to the OP that perhaps they should not take as gospel something suggested on a Forum. A qualified medic (retired or otherwise) would also be very reticent about handing out medical advice without seeing a patient.

I'd have to refer you to paragraphs 2 and 3 in 'The Terms'.

@eccles -yes a medic ,not someone on a Forum , that's the problem. People don't always give full information when expecting diagnosis on a Forum. The Ibuprofen is perhaps a bad example as most people know if they are allergic or have bad reactions but some people may be given advice that is contra-indicative to their current meds., Sometimes a Internet search pulls up more problems that solutions.
