I've just been prescribed Nitrofurantoin for a water infection from the walk in centre, and have just noticed that it says to be careful if you are Vit B deficient. I'm b12 deficient (under control), will this matter? I've had one already.
btw will update you on bp med shortly, waiting to get results!

To Janedoe - folk do meet up and send e-mails to each other behind scenes, you know.....and hence people's background and experience is known to some. Still, if you aren't confident, you don't have to follow his advice but that doesn't mean others shouldn't/can't.

janedoe - 1. yes I have read it several times and know what it says.
2. My doctor gives advice over the phone without seeing you.
3. My husband's doctor wrongly diagnosed him after seeing him several times, but not listening to him (I was there and he did not listen to me either), resulting in his premature death. Perhaps he would not have lived much longer but when you love someone and see them suffering - well, I say no more.

If you'd posted this in the Health section then you would have seen the caveat that advice on here shouldn't be taken instead of consulting your GP or similar. I don't doubt sqad is right, creamegg, but you can ring your GP in the morning (or ring your duty chemist now if you want to know today, places like Tesco pharmacy will be open until 4pm).
Sqad is a retired consultant and has the best advice ever - better than any of our GPs, you only have to put his name on here and he has a secret sensor and ...hey presto .... he pops up with the answer from the depths of his deckchair in the sun! If only the NHS appointment service was as quick! Don't criticise him or you will have us to deal with Creamegg, but of course you probably have never had his advice before. Don't worry - he's kosher! :))
Blimey Star...didn't know that.....me experience exactly.
Jane........you risk having to listen to a lot of Sqad helped me anecdotes so....In July I couldn't walk to the end of my road without pain and having to stop. Yesterday I chased waxwings....running up and down little hills... thanks to information from Sqad which led to me being able to access the correct medical help via my G.P.
I love the old rogue.....even when we argue. x

Can I just make it clear that I was not the one doubting squads advice Ann86 lol.
I'm not stupid either and am actually a student nurse myself so I know quite a lot about medications and so forth, but I also know that Squad has helped me a lot in the past and is very reassuring (I find). I did phone NHS Direct before I posted and was told that I would get a phone call back in about 4hours, as they were inundated and were only taking emergency calls.
