Leg/buttock Pain
10 Answers
Doing some plumbing at home on sunday afternoon. When i finished, i felt a small pain at the top of my hamstring, buttock area. I thought nothing more of it.
Monday morning, it was agony. It has remained agony to this day and if anything, it's getting worse.
I first thought i might of strained or torn a mussel but im a fairly quick healer with things like that and i'd usually start to see an improvement. But this is dreadful. Paracetomols relieve the pain a bit but not much and i can't take ibuprofen due to other medication im on.
the pain is all around the back of my thigh and into the hip area. I can walk ok but going upstairs or doing anything that involves lifting my leg any more than 6" off the ground is bad. Watching me put my socks on is a real scream !!!
Could i have trapped a nerve...maybe a touch of sciatica ? I don't want to go to the quacks just yet so would prefer advice on here.
many thanks

Plus, rubbing your bum is embarrassing if you are caught doing it.
So on top of the above advice, try the tennis ball trick.....place a nice hard tennis ball between the painful bum cheek and a hard wall. Lean into it, move it round slowly. Has the effect of massaging deeper into the tissue.
And give it time, it will eventually go away. Not the tennis ball. The pain.
