The key is to wash dreads regularly but without leaving residues that affect or damage your twists. It might help to alternate between brands as shampoo A may well clear the residue left by shampoo B - and vice versa. Avoid shampoo with added conditioner, in fact with added anything! Two sites with online ordering that certainly believe themselves to have the answer: http://www.dreadheadhq.com/

or http://www.knottyboy.com/
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that "mikewith" Great Help but do you know of any stockists in the West London Area Cheers Sally
Sally - they were the best examples I could find in the Internet. As for West London... If you can make it to Portobello Road (Ladbroke Grove or Notting Hill tube stations) I know there's a very friendly, approachable and well-stocked shop selling Rastafarian/ Jamaican products - they will certainly be able to help. Opposite Tescos - near the corner with Lancaster Road, I think. Always good music playing! That's the area I know, but there are Afro-Caribbean hairdressers in much of London; have you tried asking in them?
