Buscopan if you can get out to get it. Its hyoscine (make sure you can take hyoscine, i know you have other problems) which is an antispasmodic. Its not a pharmacy med, my local tesco sell it, you might need to look in the stomach section as its also sold for managing IBS.
large vodka couple of pain killers and sleep
I used to find that exercise helped, going for a walk

great idea FGT, its settled down for a bit mum's spoken to my gp and he's putting me back on the meds I was on before I went on the pill - here's hoping.
Not being funny here, but, was researching 'Buscopan' to see exactly what it is and research shows that it is medicine for horses / animals.
The nurofen express period pain tablets are excellent - and Superdrug do a cream to rub on your abdomen which sounds odd but it does work - but far cheaper is Johnsons Night time baby cream with lavender which is very relaxing too. Try lying on your front in bed with one knee bent up towards your waist and the opposite arm stretched out under your pillow - this helps release the cramping.
Re Buscopan, as stated check it is OK for you , I cannot take it due to having glaucoma.

thank you for your advice echokilo.

I am by no means an animal or horse, but just seen the buscopan advert on telly
Port and brandy.............
I think I should get some for my horrible cramps.

I'll ask when I go into the pharmacy tomorrow mamma, being diabetic can be a right PITA at times so I know how you feel
Oi Queeny, this is what came up for my search - http://www.drugs.com/pro/buscopan.html

Looking at the other sites posted I see the difference.
I don't have any medical advice but I find a large vodka, the biggest bar of Dairy Milk you can find, a hot water bottle and a duvet works every time! ;)

Sorry Society, I was making a wee joke out of it but it didn't come across very well. My apologies.

I might pass on the Vodka but I shall do all of the above V&C after I manage some tea - major munchies
No problem Queeny, I didn't take offense. Hope you feel better real soon. x

Pop along to see your GP and they may be happy to prescribe you some mefenamic acid which is excellent for relieving period cramps
