Is there a group on here at all? I did search, but cannot find one.

It's day 15 for me, and I've come very close to breaking down and lighting up, but just typing this has helped me to see the folly of my ways!

I'm not throwing 15 days away for a fag!
Would be great if there was a cheer squad/support group here, so please point me in the right direction if I've missed it.

Meanwhile, 20 a day at almost 8 quid a pack has saved me £120 already. Unimportant, however when the craving really hits!

As I said earlier in the thread, get rid of everything and keep repeating the mantra: No thanks, I don't smoke.
Run your fags under the tap (I know you've got a pack of ten stashed away somewhere!) and get rid of your ashtray. In a day or two when a smoker speaks to you or brushes past you will realise just why you are now a non-smoker, don't forget it!
natural licorice sticks do it for me, or a pencil/biro/anything decent in mouth suffices

am allowed to whinge and whinge and whinge
Good advice Chill. Ashtray is now out of sight --upstairs !!!!
Appreciate the encouragement x
Put it in the bin pusskin, you don't need it any more for ANYTHING, you're a non smoker now, remember?
And I notice you made no reference to the hidden ten pack (I'm an ex smoker remember, I know how you think!) so go and run them under the tap and bin them too!
I'll give ashtray back to the person who gave it to me at Xmas.
its a little pretty one, hate to chuck it out lol
I have about 3 in cupboard upstairs --out they go now
I would recommend you read ' The Easy way to stop smoking' by Allen Carr the best £7.99 I ever spent
Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

I had tried many, many times after smoking for 30 years before but reading this book helped me to stop with no nicotine replacement/ecigs etc. It's been nearly 7 years now and I'm so happy I did it!! It addresses the issue of addiction and helps you understand what is going on inside your body/head. Keep up the good work!!
Ha! I knew it! 'About' 3 is a bit vague m'lud. Is it 3? Or 4? Perhaps 5?

Gather the lot and put them in the sink, you know you want to!
i made no reference to the little tiny bit i have stored.
While i have that, I feel quite safe and feel that i wont be rushing out to buy more again.
i do sleep peacefully at the moment, no staying awake wanting a puff.
I take it form your last post you meant 3 cigs, pusskin.

I now realise you may have meant ashtrays. If so, the sink is not a good place for them. LOL.
hee hee C D lol
C'mon pusskin, that's like saying I'll keep a little bit of high explosive in case I need to get out of the house quickly in an emergency! You don't want to keep the stuff around.

OK, poor analogy I know but it's there if you succumb and feel the need and that won't help in moments of weakness.

I know it's tough, been there and done it and wish you all the best, the benefits are immediate and life changing.

As Mr Churchill once said, if you feel like you're going through hell, keep running!

Well done pusskin, do keep it up and do do as ChillDoubt says and get rid of any stash at all! You need to make it hard to have a cig when your willpower throws a wobbly (as it will from time to time).
I'm on day 18. Feeling good this morning with no desire for a cig at all. Hope this feeling lasts all day!
Thanks again to everyone on this thread for the encouragement. It does help.
voulez-vous thats a lot of money! congrats! You go girl. Are you saving for anything?
Try not to think of it in number of days vv, just think of yourself as an ex smoker. Over 30 years for me and I still have the odd craving.

Day 9 of Lent, day 9 without alcohol for me and Mrs BT !
When you give up smoking you have to do it like a boss and it looks like you are doing it.
If you used to smoke 30 a day, at a cost of about £8 a packet, you'll have already saved nearly £200 in the time since you've stopped.
While the money still in your pocket is good, the health benefits are miles better.
Keep it up!

Not saving for anything special, honeydip, but did have a lovely spend up on some new clothes, which made me feel good!
Well done on your booze free 9 days, bluetoffee. That I couldn't do! :-)
