I was in the bath today and it suddently popped into my head my mum singing 'íf you can pinch more than an inch your fat'. Well I looked down and I can pinch probably 1 1/2 inches on my chest area and at least 6 on my stomache!!! I am obese! I am today starting a 3 day fast to kick start this serious regime of food limitation.

I did no carbs for over a year (old style Atkins), until I realised I was starving myself of essential vitamins from fruit and vegetables. I also gave myself a few health issues as a consequence. Not really worth it in the end.
Not eating for 3 days is not demonstrsating control...it will just leave your body needing nutrients,and you will probably want even more food at the end of it. And cuppasoup? Noooo-it's full of salt.You would have been better making a proper chicken stock which would be full of nutrients. Have you really thought this out properly?
This 5:2 diet works for people that don't eat crap. Just maybe too much of good food.
I read years ago that people who naturally feast and fast tend to be much slimmer. What it really means is people who feast and fast eat when they are hungry. Some days we're just not hungry, so eat less. I never restrict what I eat but I can go days with living on not much, but I don't eat crap.

I think the research that lead to this is based on studies of people who fast natually.
