Anyone here ever had Reiki and, if so, what did you think and what was your experience of it?

I was a sceptic until the night I was in the pub and crippled with sciatica. One of our acquaintances persuaded me to let him try reiki on me. He held one hand a few inches away from the right side of the small of my back for a few minutes. When I stood up the pain had completely gone.
Cough!!1 splutter!!
Sqad, go lie down in a darkened room and take some Ibuprofen ;-)
\\\\Anyone here ever had Reiki \\\

yes, but never again. These Swedish call girls are overpriced and certainly very disappointing in the "sac."
I met someone who said she practiced reiki on her cat.....she was barking mad
lol
My grandmother is a Reiki Master ( she's also a retired Pharmacologist before anyone thinks she's completely nuts). I don't really know if it works, my mother won't have it because she says it makes her feel ill but my brother had it for a Rugby injury and swore it was the only thing which helped him and so have a lot of the rest of the family. I think with most things like this there is at least a strong element of belief making it 'work', but so many people appear to think it's amazing I'm not sure it can be discounted even though it's method is not provable.
Morning Shari,my love

Does that mean she worked in a chemist's shop?.....;-)
No it means she worked for Bayer ;-)
She could probably sell lipstick and nappies too if she tried though- she's very multi talented xx
Shari....I know! I know!....just me trying to be funny.

I have been diagnosed by a handwriting specialist (!!) as 'lacking spiritual heights' so you won't be surprised that I don't see how waving your hands at someones injuries makes them better. However there are huge swathes of mind function that are not understood and I am sure that if you believe it will help, even at an subconscious level, then it will.
I once had a 'McTimony' (?) session which involved someone burning aromatherapy oil and fluttering her hands about and it had an effect in that it left me fifteen quid poorer.
On another occasion I had an Indian Head massage and that was better than any drug I've known (which extends only to what the NHS has provided). Indian head massage should be doled out alongside pethidine. And ibuprofen.
Yes I had one session then a day after a couple of coincidental things happened.

I was about to switch a light on and suddenly thought "I hope the bulb doesn't blow" and as I switched it on, the bulb blew. The following day I suddenly thought "I wonder when that courier is coming to collect my parcel" at that very moment the doorbell rang and it was the Courier. I'd been waiting over a week for an unwanted item to be collected.

They do say Reiki can open the Third Eye Chakra, so who knows. As for pain relief, I saw no difference but then only had one session.
