Am off to the states soon with my daughter to visit her Dad. I am not a good long haul flight flyer. Any tips to take my mind off this or shall I just resort to drugs ?
business class should give you plenty of room to move around. Depending on your daughter's age - if she's young you'll be spending time focusing on her. In flight movies can be useful. Or take books or sudokus.
Drugs can help but try not to throw your whole body clock out. Landing at 6pm after sleeping for five hours isn't going to help you with your first night on land.
My fear of flying is claustrophobia. My last trip lasted 13 hellish hours. I was so freaked out, I felt stifled and was unable to breathe, and I became very anxious. The woman passenger who sat next to me was so kind and helpful - she tried her best to calm me.
AP, no, I couldn't event think straight for myself at the time. And what made it bad too, was the overhead compartment - I felt boxed-in by that. I think my claustrophobia is getting worse.
Hi Sammy, I really do sympathize with you on this one.
Ask your GP to prescribe you some Loprazolam, I take just one a couple of hours before your flight and they make you feel really floaty and relaxed, it will make you sleep too, so the one snooze and you will have reached your destination. :)
