How To Raise Money For A Family In Need

I am a campaign leader for a young girl who has severe ME and has been forcibily removed from her home. Her parents legal funds are running out and we nee to raise money asap. The only sites I can find they either charge for it or take a commission out of the donation, what can I so??

Although I have great sympathy for Karina and her apparent desease, I can only find one side of the story on the internet. For balance I would need the specialists point of view and an explanation of their actions.
Perhaps the laws are different in Denmark to how they are here in the UK.

I would want to know more. ME is another name for chronic fatigue syndrome; I have never known a child to be removed from a family because of this but I have known a child to be put on a child in need or child protection plan because of circumstances in the family which have also included a lack of engagement with professionals (medical) which has been encouraged by parents. However lack of engagement on its own is not normally enough.

Graham, I am not asking for donations on here. I just need signposting to where I can set up a fundraising page for the family, it is up to the lawyers and ME association to sort the legal side of it. As for a one sided story, that is for you to look further into if you wish. Best Wishes

Do you have a version of AB in Denmark (which is where I believe this is all happening) - there might be different sites there that are meet your requirements.

There's an ME asscoiation which is pretty well known. If you type ME in to google then they're the first hit. I imagine they'd point you in the right direction.

We are in contact with the ME Association in Denmark and the family. The association can not be involved with the fundraising as they would have to do it for everyone. The majority of sites want fee's or commissions, as we are a small group from around the world and we can not simply afford to pay this out.

Nope I am the fundraiser but I am based in the UK. The best site that I found won't transfer money out of the UK. The problem I have is that they all charge or they take a hefty commission.

Anyway, have you tried justgiving? they do not charge as far as i know

Can't you just set up your own website with a bit about where people can send donations to the family via paypal or something?

I have tried justgiving, they won't send monies outside of the UK. I think Bedknobs that is going to be the only way.

Thanks Lazygun :o) No unfortunately those sites are for the UK some don't even let you set up a donating site or fundraising site for people. I'm a bit stuck :o(
