Is This 'normal'?

Since himself came out of hospital he has slept virtually non-stop (up for five or ten minutes twice a day), he's hardly eaten (cheese sandwich and a bowl of cornflakes yesterday, nothing so far today) and he still has a terrible headache. Thanks.

At this stage I wouldn't worry too much, just give him pain,killers for the headache. Just make sure that he is rousable and monitor the situation for a few days.

I agree , contact the department and ask - on discharge it would have been helpful if they had given you a few guidelines as to what may happen and what to report back on.
The sleeping is natural healing of course and his appetite will be suppressed too. Get some reassurance please and you will feel more secure.
