Lump In Palm

Almost overnight (I think) I have developed a pea sized lump in the palm of my hand which is hard and sore and the tendon underneath seems raised. Googling suggests Duputryen's contracture but can this just come out of the blue? I've no other symptoms, my fingers all look and move fine.

Agree with Chill, they appear quite suddenly - often for no reason. Mine however did come following a wrist fracture, not sure if linked.

Well, I would need to give you a complete examination, but from what you say, you are correct......a fibroma associated with a Duputren's contracture (Margaret Thatcher ) was a victim.
Yes it can present in that manner.

Monitor the situation for a few months.

Prudie......soft feel to lump.........ganglion.Firm feel to lump fibroma re. Duputryens.

90% of ganglions of the hand are on the back of the hand,wrist or side of the palm. 10% are in the palm.

Prudie, mine is still here after 15 years but soft and no pain or infringement of movement - so not like yours it seems, Sqad's advice seems sound.

My Duputryens appeared over quite a few months at the base off my little finger.
Was rock hard but not sore or painfull, and had surgery and it didnt turn out well. Had my little finger amputated eventually.
