Blood Sugar Level
Would anybody who is in medical line be kind enough to tell what is a normal blood sugar level for a male age 54.
Is it different for different ages and gender, if yes does itcover certain age range.

The figures that have been mentioned by chompu may not be 100%.. In my health authority the levels were given as 4-6. 1 point doesn't sound a lot but can mean the difference between being diagnosed diabetic or not.
It can also depend on what time of the day the test was taken and whether it was a fasting blood test or a random one.
It depends on the units used. In the UK we use mmol/litre - the US uses milligrams per decilitre. The reading for each unit would be very different for the same blood sample.
As a rough guide, before meals your sugar level should be between 4 and 7 mmol/Litre. Two hours after a meal the level should be between 7 and 10 mmol/Litre.
I'm diabetic, so I know what I have to aim for when testing my own blood!
