Seeing Stars....

Ok, so not quite 'stars', but tiny little bright lights/lines before my eyes.
If I bed around, like to wash in the shower, then turn back, it happens.
It's almost like little electricity 'lines' running around and slowly fading away after 30 seconds or so.
I don't feel at all light headed.

Any ideas?

Yes....that certainly would make sense.....and would add up to your symptoms.

Sounds to me like a migraine. You get these auras without a pain in your head. I would suggest drink some water.

So no headache would make sense then, as in I don't have any pain at all? Hmm, that's weird.
Saying that, I haven't drank much today. Some tea, but that's about it.

Will go fill up right now... :-)
\\\\If I bed around, like to wash in the shower, then turn back, it happens.\\\

You surely don't mean "bed around".............do you?....;-)

I am not sure what you mean and what brings them on or indeed how long you have been subjected to this OR in fact your age.....which is relevant.

Are you saying that they come on when you bend your head back to look upwards?
Question Author
Sorry, I meant bend. Lol

Ok, I'm sat here now, and if I bend my head over my shoulder as far as it can go, to look backwards, when I then turn my head back I can now see them. They're like little bright things floating in the sky. If I look up (just my eyes, not moving my head) I see more of them, and likewise if I move my eyes to the left or right. They stay there, just moving around, and then fade out after about 30 seconds.

30 years old, have had it for a good few years. It's not something that causes any kind of problem, I just had it this morning in the shower and it seemed to last for a long time, so thought I'd ask.

Any ideas?
Eye floaters?
I was wondering that Sandy, as I have floaters, but babysham says lights whereas I see them as black dots/lines.
Question Author
Someone else suggested that to me, but they're definitely bright lights and not black/dark spots.
This sounds weird, but they look like tiny little bright worms, floating away.
Ah! that makes sense now......no big deal.....just momentary reduction of blood supply in the cervical spine. You may even have a bit of "wear and tear" in the viceregal spine. Reassurance that it is no big deal, no treatment or investigations are needed.
"viceragal?"...should read cervical.
Is that usual, at 30, sqad?
pixie...no...but how do you know she is 30?
Babysham, it might also be worth having a careful read through side-effects or withdrawal effects of tablets you're on? Hope that's all going well x
Question Author
Ah, good.
This may be completely unrelated, but I just thought of something else, which may be connected...

I get this burning sensation in my left shoulder. Just beneath my shoulder blade on my back. I get it when I sit in a position for too long, mainly when I'm sat at the table on my laptop.

Would that be connected?
Yes....that certainly would make sense.....and would add up to your symptoms.
Wear and tear of neck. Like Sqad has said momentary loss of blood supply.
Question Author
Pixie, I've had it for years, both the 'seeing stars' and the burning sensation in my shoulder, and not been on medication for that long at all, so can't be that.

Ah, that's great then. Nothing to worry about :-)
Fair enough, babysham. Sqad, she gave age in above post when you asked her. Seemed young for wear-and-tear, but looks like you've sorted it :-)
Don't muck around with your sight, see an opthalmologist, your sight is of the upmost importance

jemBS.
pixie......;-)......"look and yea shall find".......yes.
Question Author
I do wear glasses to read/watch TV, and have my eyes tested as and when I should.
