Approx 5 days out of 7 I get them.
They are so realistic.
Many relate to my working life, which was happy, and 15 years in the past.
Some are car/driving related. I have never had an accident.
I can recall them all in general, some I can even get back into.
Any ideas please anyone?

Hey! I've had nightmares for as long as I can remember, despite being quite a happy soul. My nightmares started around the age of 3, when I had a recurring dream about a cartoon character chasing me in his car. He had a huge carving knife in his hands and every night, he got closer and closer, but never actually caught me. Then I started dreaming that I had two identical Mums; a good Mum who lived at the front of the house and an evil Mum who lived at the back. I left that house when I was 7. but the nightmares never ceased. In fact, they got much worse. But I've been told that the dreams where you're in a car are all to do with control, of lack of iut in your life.
Why wouldn't we get them ? Just the brain trying to make sense of the random thought pattern you make whilst unconscious. I guess if you are going through a stressful time your brain is more inclined to interpet the firing neurons in a frightening manner than if you are at peace.

Sorry San, what is iut?
I get them all the time ferlew and have had for years. I have a very vivid imagination. I know how you feel you wake up feeling like you've done a night shift :o(

Oh yes Mazie, and often in tears, cos everything is so real.
Anyway...I hope you have a peaceful night tonight ferlew xxx
All dreams occur during R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. My terrier has dreams when his eyes begin to move under his eyelids. His legs begin to "run" and he "barks" in his sleep and altogether seems to be having a heck of a time. Never seen the greyhound doing this. Guess he is far too laid back.

My regular nightmare is about being at the first day of exams, knowing how little work I'd done. brrrr!
