Hi abers medical team, i hope you can help me, i'm at my wits end. I have what can only be described as a cramp type pain in my back, its keeping me awake at night, and making sitting down unbearable. I am taking paracetamol twice a day, and 600 ibrofen at night. My g'friend says its a cold in the bones, or a chill in the back.
any advice would be gratefully accepted

Go to the doctor!!!!!!!!!!
Unsure those are official medical conditions. :-) I can think of a few things it might be but we'll leave this to the experts to ask the questions.
get to the Doc's as Woofgang says.
For how long have you been suffering?
Your back....lower part or middle?
Have the Ibuprofen and paracetamol combination worked?
Why only twice a day medication?
How long have you had it and where exactly is the pain - this might help the real medics on here give some advice? If more than a few days I'd go to your doctor - it could be a muscular problem or disc or even a kidney infection. I also don't think a cold in the bones or chill in the back are real complaints, just euphemisms for something else.

first of all, the doctors are a waste of time imo, unless you are on deaths door. i'm sure its the same as uk, you have to make an appointment, and when you do see a doctor, he's usually writing a prescrition before hes even had a good look at you, its the same pills, ibrofen or paracetamol.
I have had this problem since sat morning, how can i describe it? I constantly feel restless, its like a cramp type pain in my mid to lower back, headaches also. legs feel like jelly. its almost like the flu with the cold symptoms.
I still advocate you making that doctor's appointment - what your GF describes aren't medical conditions, never heard of a "cold in the bones"!
Paracetomol is rubbish for back pain - ibuprofen has far more effect, but you need to take enough.

Well, now we have got that out of the way, you should start to feel much better.

Symptoms started on Saturday and today is only Wednesday..........

It certainly does sound viral in nature and may well take a week to ten days to settle so you have another 5 days to "suffer."

Analgesics and ant-inflammatory drugs are the treatment of choice.

Be patient.
lol Sqad...".doctors are rubbish, yes I know they have actually trained to cure sick people but I'd rather believe my GF and ask a random group of people on the internet."
I mean no offence to AB'ers but can anyone see the flaw in this plan?
...especially since the OP's not in the Health topic, where you do at least get a disclaimer on the responses!

piggy....Ibuprofen 600mgms every 6hours.
Question Author
thanx sqad, silly me, i thought they had to be taken less frequent, due to their strength.
Let us know how you get on, piggy

I agree with your GF........I bet she is Spanish.

They have not established the UK cult of running to the GP will every mild ailment.
Doesn't happen much these days, sqad - it's too bloody difficult to get an appointment.
Possible kidney infection?
Question Author
she is sqad she's,from Ceuta, shes implying its "man flu " bloody cheek.
piggy.....LOL.....I guessed so........
