2 weeks ago I had to have a denture to replace 2 teeth which had gone loose. It took two more visits to get this denture wearable and it seems to fit OK now,but my mouth is still very sore. I am taking paracetamol and rinsing with salt water. Would it be better to take the denture out until it stops being painful or leave it in and suffer. Thanks for any advice.

It might be worth going back to the dentist to check the fit. I think leave it out as much as possible to let your mouth recover. Maybe try bonjela for the pain?

Getting fed up going to the dentist,it does seem to fit OK but as I said very sore. I'll take your advice and leave it out for a while and if its not better by Monday I will go to the dentist again.
Yes, let it rest as much as possible, unless you need to put them in. I hope it feels better soon x

Thanks pixie373,I know how pathetic I seem after some of the things other people have to contend with, but I feel pathetic at the moment. Also next weekend we are going to a couple of functions and I do want to be able to enjoy my food.
It's not pathetic! Very unpleasant to have a sore mouth, especially if it affects your eating. I would very much hope it will be better by weekend, anyway.
I'm completely in agreement - leave the denture out as much as possible and return to your dentist for adjustment
Try adult Bonjela, very good at taking the pain away from ulcers so may help, but it has the be the adult one.
