Tripped over the cat and fell head over heels down the stairs (4 weeks ago) went to A&E and was told 'heamatoma' (squessy spelly) and that the lump (size of a huge baked potato) would disperse in time... Still lumpy.. so was the A&E guy telling the truth.. or will I have a lumpy thigh for all time....
As far as i can tell from your description, A&E were telling the truth.....a haematoma is the likely diagnosis. You may well have a "lumpy thigh" until the haematoma is dispersed. No big deal.
Make yourself comfy.. the walk in centre told me that I needed A&E and they would 'drain' the lump.. the bloke in A&E said' I'm coming nowhere near you with a needle.. it'll just cause an infection' ( Whoop woo to Derby Royal Hospital!!).. anyhoo.. still 'lumpy of leg'..
Taken off my 'cycling short'ish pant things last night.. and the hard 'lump' is more 'boggy' (a term used by A&E), so now thinking that I shouldn't have put a pressure wrap on the lump... let's wait and see... worried that it might release a clot which will finish me off!!! how bloody rude!!! lol (Thanks for the replies) x
hey hippy, i just wanted to tell you i smashed my shin 3 years ago and it came up in a lump the size of a lime. Unfortunately it is still a "bit lumpy" now
