Rash
15 Answers
I have got a bright red rash at the top of my legs, in the groin area. It is dry and not weeping. It is not scaly, as in psoriasis. The rash seems to be under the skin. I have had it for about a month. I am very careful to keep it clean and wash the area with Aveeno oat shower cream and apply almond oil which makes the surface a little softer. I am careful to keep the area dry and have experimented with medicated talc application too. I use gentle washing liquid and wear cotton underwear.
Is there anything I can do as a home treatment? I don't want to visit the doctor.

It is the same or similar to 'athletes foot'. The simplest superficial treatment is 'Lamisil 1% gel' which can be obtained from your local pharmacy without prescription and is the most effective antibiotic for this infection. It may take a couple of weeks to clear up. If it persists then you will need a prescription for an oral antibiotic which should do the job reliably.
