My toe nails have gone chalky white, I do use a lot of nail polish on them, is this the reason? What can I do, they appear very dry, not sure what I can buy overhere.

Yeah, if they're constantly covered in varnish it'll have that effect on 'em.

Leave em unvarnished for a while, they'll go back to normal.

Thank you Dr B00, are you Sqad's locum?? No seriously I hope that is all it is!
It's not a nail fungus is it? Don't mean to alarm you
Yeah, mine go like that after a summer of flip flop wearing. They look (even more so) hideous first few weeks of going 'bare' for winter.

And less of the Sqad's locum- we'd end up murdering each other ;-)

Tilly, nail fungus, oh shudder, it could be, but I am pinning my hopes on Dr B00's diagnosis, and then I can sue her if it's wrong!!!
Taking Selenium is meant to be good for nail condition (supports normal hair and nail condition) Holland & Barrett. You can probably buy conditioners aswell but if dryness linked to the chalky white look best to treat that and everything likely to clear up.

Dont know the ans - re chalky white unless its bruised nails and in which case I'd imagine will grow out with the nail but Sqad or others might know.

Deficiencies show up in nails too as well as infections - is it all your toe nails?
