My right knee makes funny crunchy sounds when I rotate it, (I am in my sixties). I am doing Pilates to become more flexible, but this rather worries me. Any thoughts??

I'd go and see your doc. It may be something or nothing, but we are advised not to do exercise if it might make something worse. I hope you had to fill in a health questionnaire when you signed up for your Pilates class....
Mine does that. Think the official medical term is Crepitus!
No big deal.........if it is painless then continue with your exercises.

Ni need to see your GP unless you develop pain.
"Ni" is "No"
Sqad, while you are on the subject of dodgy knees can you please advise me about mine.
Both my knees are painful but the right one is really bad. It keeps me awake at night because I can only sleep with it stretched out.
It will not take my weight when I first stand and I have to wait a minute before I can walk.
I can walk OK when I get going but it is painful.
I don't really like taking tablets but I have no choice now.
Could you please advise me on what I should take.

shorter walks

(sorry leahbee :-)
leahbee...that sound like a bit of "wear and tear" arthritis and i would certainly take Ibuprofen 600mgs before you go to bed at night.
Sqad, thank you very much, will do .
We are very lucky to have our very own private health care on AB.

zeuhl, I like your sense of humour.:-) :-) :-)

Thanks to all.
I had quite severe wear and tear arthritis.

I stopped working so hard and ate a lot of gelatine based lollies for a few years and it got much better.
Beso what are gelatine based lollies?
I have never heard of them.
My knee surgeon told me not to worry about sounds. If it is painful then yes, look into it. But creaks and cracks are normal, especially in your sixties!
