just had pot off after 6 weeks for a fractured ankle ,been given exercises to do,i am walking on it slowly and putting pressure on it, and the ankle itself does'nt feel too bad ,its the bottom of the heel that's really sore when i put my foot down, anybody know how long my foot will take to feeling anyway normal.
Depends upon the type of ankle fracture and if it was pinned or not.
The most simple of fractures of the ankle should take about 4 months after plaster removal to be "back to normal."
However, if it was more complicated and a pin inserted then we may well be looking at years rather than months.
Ah! just looked at your profile.....it was a spiral fracture of the fibula........should be back to normal by the end of the summer......this summer ;-)
I badly fractured my ankle 5 years ago and still have pain daily. Equally I know people who were literally up and running after a couple of months. People heal at different rates and some people like myself are just damn unlucky. I hope it starts to ease soon for you and you heal quick. Keep following the exercises and advice of your consultant.
