I got up this morning at 6 ish, made tea and took it in to Mic. The mess was terrible and it was everywhere, his face and hands and any where else you can think of. I got dressed and with gagging I did my best to clean up the mess. All Mic could say was "it wasn't me". He has carried this on through out the day saying please believe me. So I told him I believed him, this did calm him down. He was also very hot. I considered calling the Doc but on a weekend you get someone who doesn't speak English with an interpretor in tow so didn't bother. Since then I have given him 2 paracetamol every 4 hours and his temperature has lowered. I will call the surgery in the morning but what's bothering me is why this has happened. Mic has had a stroke, am I now looking at dementia. Why would anyone spread their, ....... every where?

It doesn't mean he'll have to go into a care home, though. I agree, get him checked for urine and other infections before you panic x
Hugs and sympathy Jeza. You are doing a fine job, but maybe you can make life a bit easier for yourself. With our aged ones (v. old. frail, dementia, living 'independently') we've managed to find a wonderful group of carers who have formed their own business, and one of the three of them will be in every morning to bathe, chat and generally check how things are going. There could be something similar near you, and if you can get it, it will ease your workload. You should be eligible for a grant to support this from your social services. It's all a pain to set up but you won't regret it as you both go forward.
In addition, you can get disposable pull-on incontinence pants, so you aren't burdened with laundering accidents. Apols if this is something you already do. We've found it has made a big improvement in the management of our incontinent rellie. Meanwhile look after yourself as you are under considerable stress.
Also Jeza speak your G.P. surgery about some possible help from Social Services for care at home.Surely something can be done to assist you.
Huge sympathy.
Definitely sounds like and infection with the high temp. no matter what else may be going on.
Get the GP to check asap and if it is an infection whatever is going on will be much better after he is treated.
Take care of yourself.
Mosaic had beaten me to it.
They do have carers in- it might be worth asking for an earlier call, jeza, so they will do it, instead.
