I've just been offered a cool job in Bristol that I think I would really enjoy and be good at. I've only ever been to Bristol once for the weekend (really liked it) and I only know one person there.

I'm 28 and single, have lived in the Midlands for 10 years and have a really good circle of friends here. I'm really scared about this but I think I want to do it.

I have to make up my mind by the end of the day on Friday. Has anyone done anything similar or got any good advice.

GO FOR IT. You will make more friends through work at first, and then you will have twice as many pals!! Bristol is a very happening place. And if you dislike it after a while you can always go back. At least if you try you can say you gave it a go!!
give it a go.... no harm in trying it
hi auntie sar, go for it girl, if you've got a good circle of friends where you are now then I'd assume you are a nice person (yakky people dont have many mates), so if you are then you are bound to make lots of new friends quite easily too
My boyfriend moved from Glasgow to Bristol. He loves it there. Still misses his mates from home but they come and visit and hes made loads of new friends. You just have to be really out going when you first get there. And if you hate it you can always go home. Bristols a nice city make sure you live in Clifton.
I moved halfway across the world and it's been great - there'll be loads of ups and downs but after 2 and half years I think it was a good decision!

As Nike says, Just Do It.

I went off to live and work in Paris not knowing a soul, and then 6 months later upped and moved over to Lanzarote, and it was the best time of my life.

Hey, if you don't like it, you can always come back. It's better to regret something you've done, rather than something you haven't.

Mr Woofgang and I have spent our lives taking those leaps of faith. We don't regret even the ones that ended....well less than well. Go ahead and JUMP

and best wishes

I am probably the least adventurous person I know of, but even I would say here ' Go For It' - it sounds like you have practically made up your mind that you want to and just need that extra shove, as everyone else has said, you can always move back if it doesn't work out. As Georgit79 says " It's better to regret something you've done, rather than something you haven't. "
which part of Bristol???

You must go for it, auntie sar, without a doubt. You have your whole life ahead of you and you'll make new friends. I've done it myself. This is a chance to go for the career and job you want, it's a turning point in your life. Seize this new beginning. Brace the change.

You GO GIRL!

Dont worry its not the other side of world give it a go,you can always go back if you don`t like it.

I've lived in Bristol all 21 years of my life and its a lovely place with lots of stuff happening. I say go for it - you're bound to bond with people at your new job and you'll always wonder 'what if' if you don't... And if it doesn't work out I'm sure you could always move back to where you were. I'm not one for change but I know if I hadn't decided to start uni in Plymouth 2 years ago I would have missed out on a heck of alot! You never know until you try!
I moved to Bristol from Swindon in January, and it was a really good move - I have made lots of friends and have a really good social life. Just do it!
