I used to laugh growing up at my parents for going to bed at 8pm/9pm and me, a teenager, staying up all night watching films/playing on the computer. I was always still able to get up on time, go to school, college and eventually work without feeling deprived of sleep what so ever!
What a difference it makes when you are 10-15 years older, have your own house, a child, full time work and everything that comes with the above. I now find myself in bed at 9pm and still feeling like I need more sleep!!
I'm usually in bed by 9pm too. At 44 I just can't handle late nights anymore! And on the rare occasion I do stay up late, say a 'do' and I drink, I spend the following day absolutely totalled on the sofa unable to move.
When I was a teenager I started work at 2.30pm, finished at half 9 and got the 10 o'clock train into town - now I finish work at 2.30 and wonder if I've got time for forty winks before I have to make dinner.
I used to love going to bed late, 12 ish.
Now I think of bed when I'm cooking the dinner at six!!!!
Get so tired and find I'm just as tired when i get up in the mornings. lol.
Its not just that jd, you will soon find yourself saying things you used to laugh at the oldies for saying, like, "it would be a nice day but for the wind being so cold" or " auntie and me used to go to that café, but we don't go now she's dead" believe me, it happens.
