Nothing helpful to say but it does seem an extreme way to dodge doing the hoovering for six weeks........perhaps no change there then!

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hysterectomy has its own website which seems to be full of information
http://www.hysterectomy-association.org.uk/information/what-is-a-hysterectomy/recovery-after-hysterectomy/
Best thing I ever did - nothing to worry about - no heavy lifting and if I remember correctly no driving for a while (think it's in case you have to brake hard) - I shouldn't have done but I rode after about 4 and a half weeks and had no recovery problems what so ever. Hope all goes well for you and that you have a speedy recovery.
Take all the advise from the staff at the hospital take all pain relief that is offered. Once you are on your feet (about 24 to 36 hours afterwards) keep going for little walks to stop yourself getting stiff. Whilst recovering I used to kneel down to do simple tasks as I found it easier. I also retrained the family to help with small tasks such as putting clothes in the laundry basket that was relocated next to the washing machine.
I hope all goes well for you having a hysterectomy was certainly life changing for me for the better.

i am certainly taking any and all drugs offered :-)

I've been through that website grass, and every other one i can find. its just all a bit real now....

still i can't wait for it to be done, i have bet myself i'll be back swimming in two weeks, although perhaps not my usual speed....
Steady with the swimming, fluff......you don't want to be taking on any water!! :o)
Glad you have a date and it will soon be done with - no personal experience but good advice given above.

Best wishes x
Hi fluffy - I wish you all the best for Tuesday & for a speedy recovery :-)) x

thank you :-)
the fluffy weight loss plan's all go, then? Good luck with it
Lots of rest you won't believe how tired you will feel and as said already no heavy lifting just take things very easy but once you have recovered from the op you will feel great. Good luck.
Best of luck fluffy.
It seems your recovery may well involve a lot of sitting around with sausages and chocolate .......... not much change there then ;o)

Get it done Fluffs, and get well soon :o)
box of fluffy sausage rolls on the way hope all goes well xx
Hope all goes well, and you have a speedy recovery.
I had a GA for a minor op a couole ov years ago and that, coupled with pain killers, knocked me for six so do not set yourself unrealistic goals cause you get well moody when you don't achieve them. Make sure you got a lot of books and DVDs, it's very dull not being as mobild as you would like to be. I remember my mum needing a lot of help round ghe house ag the time so make sure you got help with chores and shopping.

Make sure Murph doesn't sit on your stitches! ;-P
Farewell to Felix!!!!

He won't be missed.

You'll soon be up and about and feeling so much better. xxx
