I'm not particularly hyper or fidgety but the moment I'm not as mobile as I want to be then that's when I want to go for a long walk... likd now, even though I got 15 minutes at a ridiculously slow pace (seriously, old people are lapping me) before I'm done. You kind of have to just accept it or you end up feeling really *** about yourself. At least it's not forever.... but it's really frustrating.

I remember when I was on two crutches and not weight baring on one leg being ready to kill just to make mh own cup of tea at exactly the timd I wanted it.

lol, me and my impatience aren't going to fare well...

you've not got long to go now...

I got fed up with people telling me to sit down after my op. It was very frustrating as I only did what I was capable of and if I wanted to do it. I did start driving again after about a month (they say 6 weeks before driving) but only because we had an automatic car and I used to go to the beach with the dog (only about a mile away) dog did not need to walk on lead & I walked slowly.
Tuesday.........excellent, swimming within 2 weeks, no, tired post op. yes, but your recovery will be unique to you...............if they say no heavy lifting for 6 weeks, then do as you are told, will felix be coming home with you ? very best wishes .
If you are having a total hysterectomy then it is the sudden loss of the hormone producing bits that makes you feel so worn out. Gather the minions and make sure you are waited on hand and foot.

lol, im a determined *** and if i feel up to it im swimming, even if i only manage a length :-)

i don't think i've ever in my life done as im told...

its only my uterus thats coming out - well its the fibroid thats coming out + uterus if too attached or something, all i know is its not keyhole and they're cutting me open to dig out an alien but will decide exactly what on the day
Fluffy - you might be really lucky, it might be a really heavy fibroid. Lose a stone in a day!!

Get Murphy a little nurse's outfit.

ColinandJess - I have just twigged the username. Sometimes I can be incredibly slow.
my friends daughter -in-law had one on Friday morning and home the same evening, apparantly its all different now.
Question Author
im not sure i want to be home the same day, next day would be fine though
if you going to the same hospital I went to then you will lose weight with the rough food they have there, I hope it goes well, make sure you have a good clean up and freeze some meals because you might not feel up to cooking x
Question Author
did you go to good hope? i can only remember the smell of the food making me want to puke last time i was there. hopefully i'll be out quick enough, monday is a day for cooking and freezing
Macfluff, check out swimming, do not think you can do breast stroke.
Good luck Fluff....i have opted not to have a hysterectomy at the moment....so i await your advice post operation! Do it.....don't do it!!!!!
Hope all went well.
Question Author
it went well, did'nt have a hysterectomy in the end as they got the fibroid out ok, it was a big old thing, 15x15 and weighed 4.5lb. the consultant was quite amazed buy it :-)

im home now, so just got 4 weeks of utter boredom to contemplate.......
Flippin' 'Eck!!!

That's a fair old beast, you've really been nurturing that one.

4 weeks??? If you haven't read it I can recommend The 100yr old Man who Climbed Out a Window.
