I'd buy something as a surprise though. And something expensive if you can stretch to it. And some lovely flowers. .... can you tell i'm just drifting off into my own fantasy now ;o)
I would also have suggested beauty salon vouchers, your wife could then chose to have either an Indian head massage (divine), a manicure, pedicure or whatever else takes her fancy.
As FP has said, I would also chose a small item of jewellery as a surprise & to be opened at the restaurant table (romantic).
Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl & have a wonderful day together on your wife's birthday.
Had another idea.. New mobile phone. One with a good camera so she can get some good pics of Amy... only problem is she doesn't take her current mobile anywhere with her usually...
You could buy a really nice photo album and put a few pics in of you and your wife, maybe one from your wedding and then one or two of your baby when she was born and then leave lots of space for her to add to it.
Buy her some of her favourite perfume or a crystal vase and some flowers to go with it.
Or you could buy her lots of little presents and give her them throughout the day maybe say if she's 20 get her 20 presents. Me to you bear, small bottle of perfume, a single red rose, write her a poem, earrings, a cd of romantic music, chocolates, pampering things like bath milk, candles and aromatherapy oil, massage oil so you could give her a massage.
I still think jewellery is the best idea. I know you have given it before, but there is such a wide range available and it's so nice to have. Your choice may be a bit limited by where you live, but most towns and cities have independent designers tucked away somewhere so you could get something that was a one off, or really unusual, rather than the more standard items. If you explained to the person in the shop that you want something special they quite often produce other pieces not usually on display. If you haven't given one already eternity rings are often given on the birth of a child.
i like the underwear idea, her body has probably changed quite a bit but she'll still want to feel sexy, i suggest something that covers the stomach, & shows off the cleavage, and some frilly shorts for the bottom (not a thong!!) try selfridges, you'll find lots of brands in one department, i recommend Myla or Mimi Holiday. whatever you end up choosing...GOOD LUCK!
