I just discovered by cybersleuthing that a boyfreind who was truly vile to me, decades ago, died a few years back of cancer. I apologise to the world, but I am happy. He was exploitative, manipulative, self-pitying, self-obsessed and remorseless.

but not any more. Oh happy day!
yes, i am indeed a very bad person. Feel free to judge.

Very healthy, I would say, Moses. Only you know the true extent of the "damage". I've only ever hated one person in my life. A Headmaster at my school. A few years ago, my sister, who worked for a newspaper, told me she was writing up his obit. I honestly felt good :o(

If it makes you happy, it's not my place to criticise!
You are not a bad person....trust me.....it's karma....☺
why are you offering yourself up for judgment? You can feel any way you like; I didn't know him so I can't say. But what earthly difference will my opinion make?
I can understand that, don't beat yourself up about it.
Why does that make you bad? Someone who was cruel to you is no more.

Thank you all, either way. I'm still dancing. He was that bad, and I'm a tough beggar. Eff knows what he done to others. karma.
Seems as though you're not sure yourself it's okay to feel the way you do or surely you wouldn't be seeking our validation or judgement. We can't judge because we don't know, but you are entitled to feel however you like.

If you are religious (Jewish or Christian) you might remember the motto at the beginning of "Anna Karennina".
' Vengeance is mine and I will repay' hmmm :)

Builder, I'm absolutely floating.
he's the only reason I investigated firearm ownership.
I'd have offed him in an instant given importunity, and Thank You Mother Nature for a solution.

atalanta, I tried once reading that book and got bored cos it was a book about an ol' tart that had issues.
I took no vengeance, but only because circumstance and fear of consequences prevented me.
I'm still very happy, old books or none.
Yep, karma indeed, Mosaic.
I can't see anything to be happy about .
Why ..after all these years are you so concerned as to hunt him down to see what he died of.
If someone had been like that to me decades ago he would be a distant memory .I would hardly have wasted my time cybersleuthing him .
Question Author
thanks Shaney! I invited your judgement and invite any more who are interested!
i hope now you can be free of your hatred,, it's a very destructive emotion.
Oh, Shaney....there is sometimes someone in your life who can't become a distant memory.....there was in mine....

When he died I went to his funeral....I wasn't there to mourn....x

..and we are both ethnically Celtic Gness. There must be a gene.
It is a very destructive emotion, Anne....but not always of our own making....x
There is a gene in our makeup, Mosaic.....and in truth I wouldn't be without it....♣
