Is This Ok ?

My sister has rang me this morning in a panic. She did a random test for sugar with ones of those machines you buy from the chemist. It was first thing this morning and it came out at 6.8. Then she did another one about 5 mins later and it was 6.5. She now thinks she has diabetes. She has had a tummy bug end of last week and does suffer with anxiety.

Can anybody give me some reassurance for her.

the only way to be sure is to go to the doctors who will send her for a blood test (after not eating for twelve hours ).

That is a normal blood sugar for first thing in the morning.
