Foot Injury
4 Answers
4 weeks ago I tripped over something and badly bruised, so I thought, my foot. Pain was dreadful for 2 days, then after 2 days was able to walk again with pain and difficulty. Had an xray last week, seems there is a small fracture...I think this sort of of thing has to get better by itself.
What should I do? Have used frozen peas inside a cloth daily.
I am a very active person, should I walk and exercise, or just relax? The latter would be a problem as I am a gardener, I am 65, otherwise healthy.
Seeing the Doctor later this week. Have not had the need for Ibuprofen for 3 weeks, but the discomfort is nagging!
My toes went black and blue for a while, but the pain (fracture) is on the upper and right side of my my right foot.
Thanks for any help..........

4 weeks is very little time for it to settle......one is looking at at least 8 weeks after injury.
Frozen peas and rest was and still is the treatment after only 4 weeks and you certainly should be using Ibuprofen for that "nagging pain."
You really should be relaxing and not walking much and certainly not gardening, although one must continue to earn. Rest the foot as much as possible until you see you GP again.
