I was somewhat surprised that you had that terrible riding accident. If it was me I would be lying prostate somewhere for days and days.

Anyway the guy's mother broke her two pelvis about 3 months ago - she fell - she 92 but after about 3 weeks discharged herself and she seems to have come on well. So I hope you get better soon. Please dont be doing any more kind of riding.

Hi jennyjoan.
To be honest, it is not a major fracture of my pelvis - if it was I would have been in hospital in plaster from the waist down.
However, it is very painful but a cocktail of strong meds keeps the pain manageable. The Doc at the hospital said I will be on crutches for around 3 weeks, then after that I should be ok with a walking stick.

My mum had a pathalogical fracture of the pelvis (in two places) when she was 82 due to the bones being weakened by metatastic breast cancer. She just carried on. The only difference was that she got another walking stick so now had two sticks instead of one. Even at her age, the fracture healed. She must have had a high pain threashold. Even when the disease finally got her, she had never taken anything stronger than a co-codamol. They made them of stern stuff in the old days.
