Had conjunctivitis couple of days before Christmas. Pharmacist recommended Golden Eye Ointment, which I unfortunately dug the dropper into my right eyeball which then caused the whole white of my right eye to go red!! ... I also got the Golden Eye drops and used both up to New Years Day. It then seemed to go away and started wearing my daily contact lenses again, however today the itchiness and redness has started again in both eyes. Don't want to take up Doctors time with something quite minor. Any recommendations?
Sounds like you have developed a corneal ulcer by stabbing yourself with eye dropper.
Don't waste time, just pop into A&E and get an Ophthalmic opinion as early treatment is preferred.
Golden eye ointment plus anything else you can buy OTT are waste of time.
Go and see GP and he/she will prescribe "fucithalmic or "fusidic acid" eyedrops.
I've never had conjunctivitis, but I am a long time sufferer of styes. Good luck.
Blepharitis is a common eye condition characterized by chronic inflammation of the eyelid, usually where eyelashes grow, resulting in inflamed, irritated, itchy, and reddened eyelids. A number of diseases and conditions can lead to blepharitis. It can be caused by the oil glands at the base of the eyelashes becoming clogged, a bacterial infection, allergies, or other conditions.
I suffered from this condition some years ago DEE. My gp gave me a script for drops that sorted it out.
Listen to Sqad, it's easier - just the way I have always described it - I suffered chronically for a long time and it was the only ingredient that helped me.
