If the lovely sqad is around I'd be grateful for an opinion - am 70, very active, good diet, probably drink too much if I'm honest but do a lot more physically than others of my age!!! - had a blood pressure test at home where I was given a monitor to use three times daily - the results were varied between 150 over something to 120 over 90 - very, very random but mostly in the 130 over 95/100 - locum doctor looked at them and said, slightly high but basically no worries. Have had huge amount of stress lately but am usually very laid back - head and ears feel really blocked, occasionally pounding - when I equalise (or whatever it's called) by holding nose and gently blowing my ears clear for a while but head feels fuzzy. Is that enough info for you to tell me to take a couple of Ibruprofen and call you in the morning?

Indeed it is.....;-)

Your ear and "fuzzy head" symptoms certainly sound like Eustachian obstruction, secondary to a cold........no big deal and reach for the Ibuprofen again.

Now.........the Blood Pressure......that does need a little attention and perhaps if you had seen my about it 30-40 years ago, i would have said .."no big deal." But times have changed and now my advice would be to see your GP and maybe, just maybe, he will suggest taking tablets, to lower your BP.
I don't buy the stress that you have had necessarily accounts for your modestly high BP.

Thank you so much sqad - will laugh off the Ibruprofen then and go see my local medic again at some stage for the possible BP anomoly. The ears definitely feel a bit iffy.
Tis very strange but have had incidental abnormally high BP since I had serious stress concerning a family member last year.Must be getting old!
As always - very grateful to you for the reply which I respect.
