My doc has prescribed Lacrilube to help my sore eyes. However, once you start to press the tube, to place the ointment in the lower eyelid, the cream just keeps coming till you manage to get a fingertip over the nozzle. Any tips on how to deal with this?

I had the same problem Lyn. You just have to wipe with a tissue and the top back on super quick lol.
Try holding the tube between your fingers so you have a finger free on the same hand to put over the nozzle to stop it coming out while having a finger on the other hand then free to put the ointment in.

thanks, poorly designed isn't it?
You could ask your GP to prescribe Viscotears Liquid Gel instead...one drop of this thinnish liquid gel in each eye, blink a few times, blot with tissue and you're done. No mess and no blurry vision either!
