If you have digestion problems, it will be because you are eating foods that your system doesn't cope well with. You could have an intolerance to wheat/gluten/dairy etc. I've been through phases where I couldn't even drink water without getting acid reflux. I did a fast, then did an elimination diet to see what I was intolerant to (if anything). I worked out that it was dairy, gluten and possibly more. I then did a York Test to confirm or deny- and it was confirmed plus more. I don't have high blood pressure, but I know that this can be helped by fasting. Look into Jason Fung's latest book- The Complete Guide To Fasting, and it will explain all the science about why fasting helps blood pressure, cholesterol, type 2 diabetes etc. If you ate perfect food for you, less often, I'm certain that your digestion problems would also be helped. It's really unlikely your GP would advise fasting (costs nothing), and probably give you another drug which you could maybe do without. I have probiotics (Solgar Advanced Acidophilus) but as with all these things, I'm never really sure if it helps unless you take a massive dose!
