Had an aura migraine earlier. Flashing zig zags gradually covering field of vision over 45 minutes. Not had one for about 4 years. Started taking Multivitamins a couple of days ago...coincidence?

I have these from time to time and there is no discernible reason for why I have them. They just seem to come unbidden, so I can't say if multivitamins have any impact, but I would think not to be honest.
Yes.
same here. I get very few migraines or auras and they seem to come out of the blue.

I linked them about 8 years ago to Saccharin tablets so stopped them. Totally out of the blue today ...
Well documented that Saccharine triggers migraine.
No documentation that multivites trigger migraine.

Thanks Sqad
maybe your multivits are the kind that has a sweetened coating with saccharine in?

Wolfgang. .just looked and Sucrose coated! Thanx
Sucrose is sugar, not saccharin. But sugar is also a migraine trigger.
I suffer these too and completely block my vision in one eye, had two this week yet can be a few weeks between. They disappear when the zig zag ring joins up into a circle. Very weird yet never found out why.

Yes Dunnitall...different this time as the lights were multicoloured rather than just silver white. Horrible sensation
I've just had one, my first in weeks !

Herelam ...weird aren't they. I also get a numb spot on my body; sometimes foot but this one was with a tingling hand and lip. Aura is Like looking through a kaleidoscope. I never get a headache as such though just a heavy head feeling.
I get them occasionally, then go for years without them. Each possible dietary trigger I later disprove.

I wonder if there is a possible side effect of a winter virus.
I get them very occasionally, but for no obvious reason.
DENZIL, I don't get any feelings at all, just a zig zag that starts of tiny and gets bigger and bigger till it disappears and is always multicoloured. When I first had one many years ago, I was scared, but went online and saw that they are quite common and even my optician couldn't give a reasonable explanation for them.
Sometimes they are triggered by specific foods...for me,it seems to be wheat combined with stress and erratic eating. Might be good to keep a food/mood diary.
Magnesium was recommended to me several years ago...I take a supplement and that seems to help.
