I've had these for a while. Over the ĺast 4 nights they've been particularly heavy, pyjamas and sheets soaked. Any thoughts? I go to have a blood sample taken tomorrow.

It can be many things. What is your alcohol consumption?
Do you smoke?
You may have " picked up " something on your travels ?
Unlikely to be the same cause as mine (never-ending menopause - 17 yrs and counting). I did go to see GP a few months ago and she sent me for all sorts of blood tests to rule out diabetes & some sort of thyroid problem. All came back negative and I'll be back to see her; however, your sweats could be due to the things I had checks for.

I don't drink now and am an ex smoker. Is Malaria a possibility?
Unlikely unless you have been in the tropics
Night sweats. TB? I'm not a doctor though .'-)
Drenching night sweats... you needs bloods doing urgently. It wouldn't be wise to speculate at this point but just await the results of your investigations.

I wish you well, Sandy. Please keep us posted.
Sometimes it can be low testosterone. I hope blood test finds the problem and it gets sorted soon. Best wishes.
Low testosterone wouldn't cause drenching night sweats. Drenching night sweats is a red flag sign.
Spain's not a malarial area, if that's any comfort. Apart from that, see what the blood tests reveal.
In the absence of other symptoms not mentioned e.g cough, loss of weight, then it is probably no big deal.
However a blood test and a chest X-Ray will exclude two of the main medical causes. Pulmonary tuberculosis and malaria...although both unlikely in your case.
Look in a mirror. Have you got bright pink patches on your cheeks which you never used to have ? If so, tuberculosis is a possible ( though not very likely) cause.

I'd a letter from my doctor's surgery advising an urgent appointment. I'll know on Monday afternoon what's going on.
Oh 'eck! Good luck, Sandy. x
Hope you keep us. Informed sandy,,

I will, Anne, but I'm hoping to be able to report a false alarm
