i look at this man,so sad, brilliant, genius, lovely heart in every way , family loved him , he all the money in the world, he had everything but still didnt survive this life. heart goes out to such a lovely person.
sitting here i am feeling what does it take to be happy / content.

if he couldnt cope how can i ?

BTW, i never touch drugs ( yrs ago in my teens ) i work hard, i care about people and put people before me , i have problems yes but i feel so depressed at what life has thrown at me.

how to be happy / content ?

Learn to appreciate what you have is a start. But ultimately you have to feel that there is a value in existence. Good trick if you can accomplish it.
time of the year makes most folk a bit introspective....deep breaths..draw a line and concentrate on the good things in life..can't change the past but we can plan the future...xx
BTW I don't know many who survive this life. Not for sure anyway.

I don't know what George Michael's state of mind was before his untimely death but the truth is we each have things to bear in our lives.

At times these can become overwhelming and we struggle - I recommend if you think you have problem that may be depression see your GP.


I waited a long time before I sought help but I'm glad I finally did.

bednobs , noone knows , but he was surely on the road of self destruction but in your rush to post yet another negitive reply on my threads you dont give any positive answer to the original question.

i want to know, does meditation work ? anyone tried it ? just one avenue im seriously thinking about at the minute

Meditation and medication might be the answer, DD. See your GP and ask for help.
George's friend Fadi Fawaz reported he tried to kill himself a few times. He did become depressed about his weight. There was probably other things that we don't know of yet.
Yes medication can work if you are clinically depressed - there are other methods to try too.

Don't dwell on the past DD. Try to live life in the moment and appreciate all you have. Do the best you can in life and love yourself for it. You sound a very decent human being. Don't put yourself down. Do go to see your GP. Medication very often helps, which might be what you need at the moment. Try not to worry. Best wishes to you.

Change of scenery, go for walks in peaceful and pleasant places, listen to gentle and ambient music, meditate, yoga, cycling, swimming, spend time with gentle people, stay away from aggressive and critical people, take up photography, strum a guitar, watch funny clips on Youtube, break something, burn incense, don't watch the news ...switch your phone off.

These are all things that have helped me.

Stay hopeful, it will pass.
Know people feeling low .One thing I am convinced has helped is reaching out and helping others .It give a sense of being needed and giving help and hope to others give hope and help to yourself .
I have asked myself that same question, he had it all but it doesn't necessarily make you happy. Can you imagine the life they must lead ?having your every footstep followed, can't be easy.

Some people appear to be born with an inbuilt self destruct button and no matter what life brings them they are always fighting against pressing it.

I thank my lucky stars that I'm the total opposite.

has yoga / meditation helped anyone , i like to hear some expirience. next time i go to thailand i will do a 3 month meditation course , ive spoke to the centre allready and have been told it will definately help me with stress and relaxation.
