Has anyone got personal experience from taking Renitidine? I'm supposed to take two 150g twice a day. Doctor swapped from Omeprazole. I took one about 8.00am but felt really weird after. Felt really woozy and weak.( Got a feeling my blood pressure dropped) had to go back to bed and felt cold. Woke up at 2.30pm! Frightened to take another...

Hi Patsy. While I cannot help or advise you on Rentidine,I would be interested as to why you were change from Omeprazole which I myself take because I am on Nyproxyn.
I can only think that your reaction is to the mediction, that sort of thing happened to me when I took a strong Co-Codamol .One time I took a Tramadol and that made me feel REALLY ill, just like you are describing...I NEVER took it again
With time you could get used to Rentidine ...maybe?
Taken them in the past without any reaction.Side effects here:-

Don't take any more Ranatidine.
Go back to Omeprazole and contact your GP on Monday.
I agree...

Thank you all. I read they can cause brachicardie and heart block. I'm already on beta blockers to slow the heart! I'll ring doctor on Monday morning. Meanwhile I will go back on to Omeprazole 2×20mg.
Kloofnek, Renitidine was recommended after I had endoscopy nearly two weeks ago. I have suffered effects of acid reflux and pain in upper back. It was found I have Hiatus Hernia. Sometimes other similar medication works better. I will not take another Renitidine till I speak to doctor.
