My Mum had a hip replacement 4 and a half weeks ago, she was wondering if it is normal for the hip joint to clonk when going upstairs and sometimes when walking?

well .....maybe. Best answer is any problems or concerns, back to the doc!
PS I am an occupational therapist and have spent many years assisiting people who have had hip replacements

Thanks Woofgang, Mum has got her check up on Tuesday, But just wondered if anyone new anything about after effects,  See what the doc says

you are welcome. Sorry I culdn't help more but you really do need to examine the hip to answer whether it is a normal clonk or not
No I don't think it should 'clonk'.
(radiographer who has seen thousands of these over many years)

Thanks silly moo, I just hope that its nothing too serious, mums been doing so well since the op, shes driving already, hope theres not another op on the way because of this
