My daughter (49) took a bad migraine 10 days ago and since then has had continuous headache plus interference in her vision. She cannot read nor drive the car. She has seen docs, opticians and staff at Eye Pavilion. They can find no cause for her symptoms. Has she reached a brick wall? What is the next step? I am guessing the Eye Pav staff should be able to refer her to a specialist? What do others advise?
Not enough information.
Does your daughter suffer regularly from migraine?
"Interference in her vision"...what form does it take and more importantly is it one eye or both?
Ah! both eyes affected.......that is a good sign.
I am not sure what "Eye Pavilion " is, an Eye Unit in a hospital?
If so then she has already seen an Eye Consultant and if it isn't, then she should see an Ophthalmic Consultant.
Eye Pavilion is hospital for Eyes, and they have failed to find cause of her fuzzy eyesight. Her GP offers no further help either! I shall see if she can be referred to Ophthalmic Cons as you suggest. Thanks.
To be honest it sounds like a migraine - have they not mentioned this possibility? A lot of women can experience this with hormone changes as the menopause looms.
She had a CT scan this morning - all clear - and is now waiting for MRI, which I suspect will be clear too. The opinion seems to be it the start of the menopause. I can hardly believe this - 2 weeks of headache and unable to read or drive? Too extreme I would have thought.
