Hi to anyone who remembers me from before (haven't been on in a while!)
Was thinking of trying this piercing - does anyone know whether it works ?
(Or, anyone who's had it done?)
Cheers x

You don't say what sort of migraine you get. I have ocular migraines and was recommended magnesium. It does seem to help reduce frequency for me... https://www.migrainetrust.org/living-with-migraine/treatments/supplements-and-herbs/

Welcome back Debsy.

I can't really help, my daughter does have this piercing but she didn't do it because of migraines - I think from what I've read it works for some and not others , so a judgement call you have to make I guess.

Hi Mamy !
Ok, thanks - I sorta thought that would be so ! I'll have to give it some thought !
I presume you've exhausted any help from your GP?

Explore Acupuncture first maybe?

My GP says "no-one is even sure of what causes them - so how can we know how to stop them" ???
That's certainly true to a point and you tend to discover your own triggers - mine used to be Cheese and Chocolate, for others it can be stress.

Try keeping a diary to find what yours are.

I have figured out - that in my case, sunlight bouncing off of cars (etc) extreme tiredness or hunger seems to have something to do with triggering mine, but not the usual cheese or chocolate thing
Hope you get something in place to help you get relief Debs.

Cheers Hun, I have some pills from the Doc (Maxalt melt) apparently, so expensive - they only give you 6 at a time (mind you, if they cut down the packaging - they'd probably be half the price!) but it's the fact that the 'contra indication' leaflet is an A3 sheet - is more what worries me !
Anyway I'm off to bed now, spk again - thanks for you response x

Hi Pastafreak !
Yeah ! By specifying ocular, I assume you have experience of this ?
Most people only think of it as a headache - for me, it's more the visual disturbance that is a real issue - the headache factor is relatively minimal (as by the time I've realised it's the onset of a migraine, I've usually taken pills !)
That's exactly what I get.
I use magnesium powder...Can't swallow huge pills...And I use topical magnesium oil. It's also good for joints, etc.
Can give you links for products if you want.
