As a grandmother, I do like to take pics of her, she's a very pretty child. But is there any harm psychologically? I don't want her when she grows up mimicking this trout pout trend in the camera lense. May be I'm over thinking things? Anyone know of any studies done regards this?

It's so easy to pick up your phone and catch a moment without thinking.
Was very careful how I phrased the Q when I googled Ele.
Haven't read it, but it would seem to be a discussion rather than research itself.

alba, yes, I know. Didn't know how to word it, their must be some research somewhere? I don't want her turning in to someone doing constant selfie, was worried. Your link isn't highlighted alba, not sure I can access it.
I can't see how it can cause harm. Family photos are not the same as a photo shoot for modeling .
Family photos should be natural not posed .

'Selfies'
Question Author
Yes I understand that Eddie, there's a current trend for constant selfies though, I wondered if I was doing any harm.

She's already a very confident child, she sings and dances in the mirror, knows how to take a pic of herself on my phone too just by watching me do it.
Question Author
May be other children do, I don't know. Are we raising a selfie culture with all our tech?
sorry Ele, even after highlighting and right-clicking the option to go to v.sheiner etc didn't blooming work.

Will have another look to see if I can find something which will work x
Yes obviously there's the potential for harm or for them to grow up into vain heartless robots ala katie price.

You could always cut down. I'm interested in what the studies/debate was in that folder, have you read it yet op? If so what was the general concensus.

Thanks alba !
selfies are a modern phenomena more to do with mobile phone pictures than 'proper photography'!

Quangoid, you're new here, welcome. I think most families take snaps without thinking, as I do. Am I over reacting though. I don't know what the link says, I can't open it at the moment.
That link is about 'serious photography' by professionals not mobile phone 'selfie' snaps!
Erring on the side of caution isn't overreacting at all as i'd rather overreact then underreact.
Thank you Ellipsis, most kind x

Mine downloaded as a document and at 27 pages, seemed a bit much to C&P :-)

Don't worry Ele, by the time she is a teenager, there will some new technology about, no doubt
The link is a Word file. If you don't have Word, you can get a viewer from Microsoft here:

Thanks ellipsis! Just reading now.

I think it more covers photography than any psychological affect alba, thanks anyway x
