//Togo...because its the word that gay people chose for themselves?//
I am sure that is a laudable state of affairs Woof. But what about my own use of the word, now being denied to me in, perfectly innocent conversation or correspondence? We are accused of "cultural" misappropriation if we wear the wrong hat, how come certain sections of the populace can take words and phrases that they approve of and prevent the use of other words that they feel don't touch the right buttons. Just off for a fag and a ginger biscuit and to check my bolognese mince.

Please engage you brain before posting, you are barking up the wrong tree, nowhere have I entered the running quarrel on this thread about the use of the word 'gay'.
Togo - Your very glib 'victim status' comment does, in some part, acknowledge that gay people have been, for many years, victimised (even benignly.......if that is possible).
I have been the 'victim' of more than a little *humorous horseplay* at the hands of people who think like you over the years.....and I can say without fear of contradiction, it ain't in the least bit funny!
No, I didn't, Togo.
But it's obvious that you cant resist posting your trite 'observations' or 'humorous homily' whenever the opportunity presents itself.
