OK, I dont have long (about 6 weeks) and I want to lose a bit of the tum and tone up the pins.

Any suggestions as to a quick fix? Obviously cutting down the calories (bye bye Pinot), drinking lots of water and I was thinking a decent brisk walk nearly every day.

Anything else I can do? (And suggestions of a burkini or a head transplant have already been made and rejected as RUDE!)

I bet Barmaid is wishing she'd bought a glossy magazine by now.

NoM......my idea and definition of starvation ( which I should have made clear) is where the carbohydrate intake is so reduced that the body turns to protein for it's glucose production, a condition know as ketosis and this often occurs during a high protein, non carb diet. ( smell their breaths). This occurs well before the common use of the term...starvation.
You know no offence NoM, but I will continue to take the advice of those that have studied food nutrition and have professional qualifications in it.
But this will make an interesting conversation when I see my team on Monday!
I must be starving myself, as I eat very little in the way of carbs.
ummmm

"btw...BM is not overweight, she just wants to tone."

Maybe! maybe! that is not the impression that i have got, although i have never met barmaid. I may have the wrong impression completely.
If it is JUST "tone" that she is looking for...then forget the diet posts.
What is tone?
Unfortunately, those who know food nutrition are well behind the times when it comes to ongoing research.
sqad, maybe 'tone' is just to firm things up a little?
And will you be having some salt and vinegar with those carb sticks on your shoulder, Islay?

I'll go on years of personal experience when it comes to eating, if it's all the same.

I think it's important to remember that diet is not a "one size fits all."

Everyone I've ever known who has undertaken a low carb diet has lost significant weight and felt great. You can't argue with results....

alba.....you are correct.....but diets are not going to do that...unless of course that you are thinking in terms of anabolic steroids (hardly to be described as a diet).
I really don't know what "tone" means.....can anybody help me here?
I think it means to firm up and tidy up the jiggly bits
I`d probably try the 5:2 diet for a few weeks
Whatever your problem with me is, Islay, it's clearly eating away at you.

Get well soon, sweetie.
NoM.

I think that Islay agrees with you re. low carb diet for weight loss.
lol sweetie you to!
Islay.....jiggly bits.....LOL.....right, if you find a method, diet or what you will, pleas let me know as i have when redundant "jiggly" bit that i wouldn't mind....."firming up"...;-)
Sqad, Islay follows me from thread to thread contradicting everything I say. She's got a personal grudge but clearly can't spit it out...
NoM...LOL one gets used to that on AB, I have had and still have 2or 3 who follow me about......;-)
I don't understand the no carbs advice.

sqad, moi aussi!
Re. the OP, eat fruit. Instead of a meal try eating pears or apples 'first'.
I cut out breakfast and had a pear - the hard conference type- when I finished it I was no longer hungry. I lost 6 pound with ease.
Pears contain copper which a bonus.
