I felt my first flutters last night. Very subtle, but definitely present.

I have a further scan on 26 September, so we'll hopefully get the measurements we need at that stage.

My bump is actually noticeable now.

Aww, that's lovely NoM. Are you about 20 weeks now? My daughter is almost 23 weeks and she felt movement about 3 weeks ago.x

I'm 21 weeks tomorrow, Patsy.

BM - definitely not wind. It felt like little butterflies. :)

dont get yourself in a larva ....sorry couldnt help it xxx

Definitely not a fat baby bump, Minty. It's low down and all front. I'm sure the baby is curled up like a hedgehog. It certainly doesn't like to uncross its legs for a scan, the little imp.
My daughter is the same shape but wise. She has a slight curved spine and a mild case of spina bifida. Not that you would notice. She only found out about 5 years ago. She was told she could never have an epidural.
Question Author
Would she have opted for an epidural, Patsy? I'm not sure how much pain I will experience, but I'm not one of those new age mothers who will suffer needlessly when there are so many forms of pain relief available :-)

It's a strangely wonderful sensation , the term 'quickening' describes it perfectly.

Keep well.
Jeez I'd want all the drugs going.

And that would just be for the conception!!!!!!
Question Author
I must have been on something when I conceived, because I don't remember it. I think the SOB plied me with wine and took advantage.
Stay well NoM :-))
I had planned to have no pain relief - goodness knows why - but in the end I had almost everything: gas and air, pethedine, TENS machine. I was scared of an epidural though, so didn't have that. For some reason thought it paralysed your whole lower half, not just the bit in the middle.
Jo - it does paralyse your whole bottom half. I had one that didn't work. It paralysed my legs but I could feel all the pain.
NoM, they're hoping my daughter will give birth naturally. Could possibly end up having a cesarian as her back might give her a lot of pain. So I guess she'd have to be knocked out by general anesthetic?
Great news Nom!
Question Author
I don't think they give you a general anaesthetic for C-sections??

However I wonder if that will be my fate and how my fibroids will affect matters later on down the line. I've already told the Doc that I want the full removal surgery post-birth.

Thanks, LIK.
No they don't NoM. I've had 4 births - two were C sections. It's a very strange sensation when they lift the baby out lol.
She will get GA if she can't have an epidural.
